Guys, girls and all of you amazing humans out there! I’m going to say something a little bit taboo- everyone of us, is awful with money. I know of not one single person out there that hasn’t once thought ‘how on earth am I meant to get to the end of the month?’!
It’s a cruel fact of life that we have/will/ or continue to have sleepless nights over bills. Those pangs of anxiety when you check you bank balance to see you in your over draft for the millionth time or just the overwhelming feeling of despair when your financially crawling to the end of the month. As someone wiggling like a pregnant caterpillar to the end of the month praying, she has enough to buy a few gin’s at the airport. I thought I’d share a few thought’s I’ve had on the matter.
It comes and goes.
As cliché as it sounds we all have good and bad times when it comes to money. One month we can be utterly balling and the next we can be living on noodles and counting down to the next time we get paid. It’s unfortunate, but it happens. You are not alone when it comes to the anxiety to reach the end of the month.
We all get behind.
I don’t know one person in my entire circle that hasn’t got behind in their bills. If someone tell’s you they haven’t, I can be 99% certain that they’re lying. Or there some mega money making billionaire without a finical care in the world.
Stop giving yourself a hard time because you missed a payment. It will all come good in the end.
Write a list with a the most important bill at the top.
My car payments will always be my top priority- I need it to get to and from work. Make a list with all your out goings and work your way down it. Prioritizing one bill over another is hard but necessary, don’t feel guilty about it.
Don’t be scared to ask for help
Friends and family will help. It’s that simple. Even if not financially, they will provide an ear to listen when you have called a company 45 times to receive snotty Susan on the line who seems unwilling to help or hear you out.
Likewise, call the lender- speak to a few people about what they can do for you. I’m not going to lie companies such as O2 have really gone above and beyond for me. I’m pretty speechless.
Remember, no matter what happens you will be okay.
You have been, and I’m sure will go through plenty of money problems in your life time. The good , the bad and the down right, what the heck we ‘re you thinking – why did you need that much prosecco!’ moments will always come and go. Remember- money isn’t worth making yourself ill over.
Seriously, can we all stop beating ourselves up. Yes everyone out there is in completely different financial states. BUT, you can do this! Overdrafts, credit cards, phone bills- WILL NOT BEAT YOU. And it feels hella good to pay the utterly crap things off!
